Annual UCSF Employee Giving Program Supports Community
UC San Francisco continues its annual Employee Giving Program this season to give faculty and staff an opportunity to support and contribute to the community.
UCSF cherishes its public mission. In the last five years, contributions both large and small have helped fund research programs, patient care initiatives, and student scholarships throughout the university and beyond. UCSF’s talented and diverse workforce of 23,000 people continues to show an outpouring of generosity to improve access and delivery of health care services.
In her message to the UCSF community, Chancellor Susan Desmond-Hellmann, MD, MPH, expresses gratitude for the hard work and contributions of all employees, and encourages participation this year.

“As a community and as individuals, UC San Francisco faculty and staff play an essential role in advancing our mission of excellence and achievement in discovery, education, and patient care,” she said. “Today, I invite you to participate in the UCSF Employee Giving Program. It’s an easy way to support the causes that you find most personally meaningful, whether a UCSF program, or a local or national organization.”
The Employee Giving Program allows employees to make one-time donations or sign-up for a monthly pledge via automated payroll deductions.
UCSF’s partnership with Community Health Charities of California allows faculty and staff to make contributions to hundreds of external charitable organizations.
For payroll deduction to start during the first pay period of 2014, employees are asked to please make their gifts to UCSF or Community Health Charities by Dec. 15, 2013.
Faculty and staff can contribute gifts to UCSF at any time throughout the year.
