For the fifth consecutive year, UCSF Health-UCSF Medical Center has been named one of the nation’s top hospitals for maternity care by Newsweek. The publication also ranked UCSF Health No. 1 in California for reproductive health care, best on the West Coast, and No. 5 in the nation.

These recognitions highlight UCSF Health’s leadership across a spectrum of care — from advanced fertility treatment to pregnancy and childbirth — delivered through a model that integrates research, innovation, and patient-centered care.

UCSF has long been a leader in women’s health, establishing one of the nation’s first Centers of Excellence in Women’s Health three decades ago. Today, that legacy continues through nationally recognized programs that provide high-quality, coordinated care at different stages of life.

For America’s Best Maternity Hospitals 2026, Newsweek evaluated some 2,500 hospitals nationwide based on hospital quality metrics, patient experience, and reputation, recognizing 461 facilities.

In addition, the UCSF Center for Reproductive Health at Mission Bay was on Newsweek’s list for America’s Best Fertility Clinics 2026. The list includes 140 leading clinics across 32 states and Washington, D.C., and reflects excellence in clinical outcomes, patient care, and innovation in a rapidly evolving field.

UCSF Health is consistently ranked among the nation’s leaders in quality and safety by leading health care rating organizations.
