UCSF forum launches UC Global Health Institute, reports state impact
What UCSF Global Health Sciences and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) will host a public forum titled, “A Center of Excellence for Global Health: Why Global Health Matters to California.” The event will focus on the future of U.S. and California leadership in global health and the release of a report on the multi-billion-dollar impact of global health on California.
It also will include an announcement about the newly launched UC Global Health Institute. Panelists include three members of the CSIS Commission on Smart Global Health Policy, as well as experts from UC, Stanford University and private industry. The commissioners also will hold a roundtable discussion with UC and Stanford students.

The new UC Global Health Institute aims to galvanize global health research and education across the university’s 10-campus system to help address the most pressing global health issues.
