Give to UCSF<p>By understanding the underlying biological processes that allow teeth to continuously grow in rodents and other mammals, Klein’s research aims to apply those principles to regenerative medicine in humans. Klein predicts that one day patients will be able to replace their own lost teeth with living, biological replicas instead of the prosthetics oral surgeons implant today.</p>
<p>Students, residents and faculty from the UCSF School of Dentistry performed dental screenings and applied fluoride varnishes to promote early detection for tooth decay in children in partnership between UCSF, the California State Assembly and the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. </p>
<p>The UCSF School of Dentistry recently established the Global Oral Health program, whose members hosted an inaugural symposium on May 23. Leaders of major health initiatives from around the world participated.</p>
<p>Students say they agree with the recent accreditation report that recognizes UCSF for “exemplary levels of student achievement" and for its “many indicators of a rich learning environment, students learning outcomes and diversity.”</p>
