UCSF has opened an automated hospital pharmacy believed to be the nation’s most comprehensive facility using robotic technology and electronics to prepare and track medications with the goal of improving patient safety.
UCSF and Zcube have entered into a new agreement to license UCSF-developed microtechnology and support early research into new ways to deliver oral medications directly to a targeted site in the body.
Patients newly diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, and their families, need guidance from physicians on planning for the patient’s progressive loss of ability to handle finances, say San Francisco VA-UCSF investigators.
