UCSF Campus Store Opens in Millberry Union
The UCSF Campus Store features the usual university-branded merchandise like sweatshirts, hats and gifts but it also carries school supplies, grab-and-go snacks and other items requested by the university community.
A new 900-square-foot UCSF Campus Store has opened in Millberry Union.
Follett Higher Education Group, the current online store provider, is operating the new brick-and-mortar store, located across from Subway on the B1 level in MU005.
The new UCSF Campus Store had a soft opening on Sept. 28 and a larger grand opening is planned for later this year. It’s open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
“Our main goal is to support the UCSF campus,” said Husam Erciyes, director for the the UCSF Campus Store for Follett, which also operates the San Francisco State University Campus Store. “We are talking with our customers to determine what they need. We’ve already had a request for lab coats and other supplies.”
The UCSF Campus Store features the usual university-branded merchandise like sweatshirts, hats and gifts but it will also carry school supplies, grab-and-go snacks and other items requested by the university community. “This is a brand new operation, so we’re trying to figure out what type of inventory we should carry and we’re hoping our customers will tell us what they need,” Erciyes said. “We may not be able to carry everything, but we’ll make adjustments based on their feedback.”
Erciyes said he’s excited to operate the UCSF Campus Store because it’s very different from SFSU. “The UCSF campus is so unique because of its focus on medicine. The needs of the community are very different so we’re going to work with everyone to find the right mix.”
