As we enter the autumn “season of giving," the 2014 annual campaign of the UC San Francisco Employee Giving Program is underway. It offers faculty and staff a convenient way to make tax-deductible gifts to support the causes that they find most personally meaningful.

UCSF employees have made more than $15 million in gifts to help fund UCSF research, patient care, student scholarships and capital projects in the past five years. Gifts vary in size, but each contribution makes a significant impact on our mission of leading revolutions in health.

“As we mark the 150th anniversary of UCSF we celebrate our history of excellence and achievements in discovery, education, and patient care. Our dedicated faculty and staff are the cornerstone of this ongoing success,” said Chancellor Sam Hawgood, MBBS. “UCSF is also fortunate to have a time-honored culture of giving. I invite you to participate in the UCSF Employee Giving Program. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration and for the passion and effort you bring every day to your role at UCSF.”

How to Make a Gift

Interested employees can make a single one-time gift, or contribute over a period of months through payroll deduction. Gifts can be made to virtually any program or department at UCSF by check, credit card or payroll deduction, which is the most convenient method. Just indicate how much you would like to donate each pay period, and that amount will automatically be deducted from your paycheck. Below is a grid to show some examples of how much would be deducted from your pay for various gift amounts.

Also, UCSF’s partnership with Community Health Charities of California allows faculty and staff to make contributions to hundreds of external charitable organizations.

The 2014 Annual Campaign runs through December 14, but staff and faculty can participate in the Employee Giving Program any time throughout the year.
