January Issue of Science of Caring Online

"The lead story looks at how some of the nursing faculty and doctoral students are using their research to ensure family-centered care incorporates a genuine understanding of an often-ignored family member: the father," writes David Vlahov, RN, PhD, FAAN, dean and professor of nursing education in the School of Nursing. "Two other stories look at our work in global health. One provides an update on our global health minor, including profiles of two of our students. The second is about a recent trip to China by the dean and prominent faculty members, during which they deepened existing relationships, while forging new ones.

Finally, we recognize one of our alumni, Carolyn Lee, who has not only made her own significant contributions to nursing, but who is part of a remarkable family legacy that spans all four schools at UCSF."
