DataShare offers Research Access to Global Community
The UCSF Library recently launched DataShare, a web-based system for sharing research data throughout the University and beyond.
Created through a collaboration among the UCSF Library, Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and the California Digital Library, DataShare provides an open system for researchers to participate in the global research community by uploading, downloading, and sharing data.
Any UCSF-affiliated researcher, including faculty, postdocs, and students, can access DataShare and upload information, which is then accessible to public users upon request. Thorough metadata allows users to easily find relevant information and use it for further research and educational purposes.
UCSF researchers can follow these simple steps to upload their data and ensure it is easily accessible to others.
DataShare aims to promote a culture of open science with reduced barriers to data sharing in order to further the development of new hypotheses, new analysis techniques, and to train the next generation of researchers.
