Parnassus Campus Courtyard Caffé to Close This Summer

The Courtyard Caffe at the UCSF Parnassus campus will close this summer.

Courtyard Caffe, fondly referred to as the “Nurseteria" because it's located inside the School of Nursing building, has fed faculty, staff, students, and visitors at UCSF since 1985. It’s also been a treasured place to gather, study, and enjoy a break from a busy day at the health sciences university.

“Their 28 years of friendly service and quality food has been very much appreciated,” says Jennifer Dowd of Campus Life Services.

The owners, Raphael and Thoi, have enjoyed being part of the UCSF community and are now ready to retire this establishment. Saying goodbye will be a challenge to all of those who patronize the café as part of their daily routine.

Raphael expressed his thanks to the UCSF community by saying, “Do stop by to say goodbye. We will always treasure our experience at UCSF, particularly your support and friendship. We hope to be leaving behind a legacy of good people serving good food for a better period of time in the best institution.”

Courtyard Caffe’s last day of service will be Friday, June 14, 2013. Until the closure, the café will be open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and offer a limited menu of sandwiches, salads, and beverages.

Campus Life Services, Retail is in the process of finding a new food service vendor to operate a café in the School of Nursing. Construction on a new café will begin over the summer with the goal to open an eatery with a new vendor this fall.
