UCSF to Host Halloween Parties at Several Sites on October 31
Events to Feature Free Food, Costume Contests

It's shaping up to be a great year for Halloween costumes. Among the trending topics that could turned into an outfit during a day of tricks and treats: Big Bird, binders full of women and the six-year-old beauty queen Honey Boo Boo.
Whatever the case, members of the campus community are invited to use their imagination to create a costume for UCSF's annual Halloween parties.
Admission is free to these fun and festive events, which are scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Here's the scoop by campus site:
- Parnassus campus: Costume contest categories include prizes for best student and staff costumes and best school and department costumes for group entries, plus free nacho bar and DJ at Millberry Union Event and Meeting Center.
- Laurel Heights campus: A door decorating contest will be held again this year. Door judging will occur on Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Costume contest registration, noon to 12:15 p.m., door decoration winners announced at 12:30 p.m., costume contest winners announced at 12:45 p.m. at the View and Graden Room.
- Mission Bay campus: Costume parade starts at 12:20 p.m. in Genentech Hall Atrium. The Slow Poisoner returns to Mission Bay to perform and host the Halloween festivities. Prizes will be awarded to the top three costume winners. Door decorating winners will be announced at this event (near 12:30 p.m.). Those interested in signing up for the door decorating contest, can click here for the entry form. Note, that doors must be finished by 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 29. Prizes to the top three winners. Group and lab costume contestants are welcome (only one winner for this category).
