UCSF Farmers' Market at Mission Bay Returns April 11
UCSF offers Farmers' Markets at the Parnassus and Mission Bay campuses.
UCSF’s Campus Life Retail Services and Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association (PCFMA) will welcome back the Farmers’ Market at Mission Bay on Wednesday, April 11.
Featuring a wide selection of California-grown produce and specialty items, the 2012 season will run from April 11 to November 14, every Wednesday (rain or shine) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the plaza at Gene Friend Way.
To celebrate, PCFMA will host a grand opening event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11 that includes:
- Chef Mario demonstrating how to prepare fresh and simple recipes using market produce
- Big Dog & The Bite performing live rock and blues music.
After a chilly winter, the UCSF Farmers’ Market at Mission Bay will usher in a spring full of social student gatherings, sun-kissed lunch meetings, and opportunities to sample one of the Campus Life Services retail food vendors also located on Gene Friend Way Plaza: Caffe Terzetto, Peasant Pies, Publico, or Subway. UCSF vendors are serving weekly specials and Farmers’ Market deals on select Wednesdays throughout the season.
And, in support of the UCSF Zero Waste by 2020 initiative, the Mission Bay Farmers’ Market is a zero waste event. Compost and recycling bins are provided and managed by UCSF Campus Recycling Program to help the UCSF community be green.
