SF Mayoral Candidates Face Off at UCSF Mission Bay
October 4, 2011 – San Francisco – The top 12 candidates for mayor of San Francisco will answer questions from panel of journalists, the League of Women Voters of San Francisco and the public during the campaign’s most comprehensive candidate forum scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Mission Bay.
Journalists Rachel Gordon from the San Francisco Chronicle, Scott Shafer from KQED, and Joyce Chen from Sing Tao Daily, will direct questions to Jeff Adachi, Michela Alioto-Pier, John Avalos, Terry Baum, David Chiu,Bevan Dufty, Tony Hall, Dennis Herrera, Ed Lee,Joanna Rees, Phil Ting and Leland Yee. Members of the audience will also have an opportunity to submit written questions in the second half of the forum.
The event, moderated by ABC-7 News Anchor Cheryl Jennings, will be held at Robertson Auditorium, 1675 Owens Street, San Francisco. It is located on the second floor of the Mission Bay Conference Center. The forum is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of San Francisco and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). The event is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Candidate Forum will be taped by SFGovTV for later broadcast on San Francisco Cable Channels 26 and 78, KQED radio for broadcast on Oct. 6 at 8:00 p.m., and the forum will be streamed live by ABC-7. Video of the forum will be available at SFvotes.org.
The auditorium will be available for media setup starting at 4:00 pm, and doorswill open to the public at 5:30 pm.
