So far, at least four deaths and several injuries have been reported and dozens of homes have been destroyed or damaged from the massive explosion and fire that erupted at 6:24 p.m. on Thursday. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.  Pacific Gas and Electric Co. officials have said that a natural gas pipeline ruptured.

Dozens of people were treated at area hospitals including Mills Peninsula Hospital, the UCSF-affiliated San Francisco General Hospital, Kaiser in South San Francisco, Seaton Medical Center and St. Francis.

UCSF Human Resources representatives at both the medical center and campus are working to identify UCSF employees who may be potentially impacted by the San Bruno fire. UCSF will offer employee assistance and support to those who need it, according to Mike Tyburski, director of Human Resources.
