UCSF to Offer H1N1 Vaccine for All Employees, Students

UCSF Medical Center has received a large shipment of H1N1 vaccine, a supply sufficient enough to vaccinate all UCSF employees and students.

Next week, UCSF will begin vaccinating all personnel and students who have a UCSF ID.

“We encourage all employees to get vaccinated to protect themselves as well as patients and co-workers,” said Josh Alder, MD, chief medical officer of UCSF Medical Center. “If you don’t receive the seasonal flu and H1N1 vaccine, you must wear a protective mask when in patient hospital rooms and clinic exam rooms.”

At Mount Zion and Parnassus, H1N1 shots will be administered to UCSF personnel and students during the following dates and times:

Parnassus – Medical Science Building, 513 Parnassus Ave., Lobby (Nobel Wall)

  • Monday, Jan. 11 – 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 12 – 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 13 – 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Jan. 14 – 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Jan. 15 – 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Mount Zion – Occupational Health, 2330 Post St., Suite 460

  • Tuesday, Jan. 12 – 12:30 to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday, Jan. 14 – 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Those who would like the vaccine but can’t make any of the scheduled times listed, can receive the vaccine at Occupational Health Services during drop-in hours listed here.

  • Parnassus – 350 Parnassus Ave., Suite 206
  • Mount Zion – 2330 Post St., Suite 460.

Medical center employees, faculty and residents who decline to be vaccinated must complete an online form here, which is accessible when on the UCSF network. 

The distribution schedule for 2300 Harrison St., China Basin and Executive Park will be announced later this week. H1N1 vaccine also is being offered by city and county health departments and drugstores such as Walgreens.
