UCSF Housing Offers Online Services to Pay Rent
Tenants who pay their rent with a credit card online can earn airline miles, avoid late charges and stop waiting in line at the housing office at month’s end.
UCSF Housing Services is reminding and encouraging their tenants to pay their rent and manage their account online.
“Though we do like to see and visit with our tenants, sometimes at the end of the month, the office gets backlogged with people wanting to do last-minute rental transactions in person,” says Todd McGregor, Housing Services manager. “We want to remind tenants that by using their online account, and paying by credit card, we all benefit.”
Tenants can access their account on the Housing website. Once a user ID and password has been set up via the Housing Office, tenants can log in to see their account summary, including balances, charges and explanation of charges.
Tenants paying by credit card don’t have to worry about delays that sometimes occur when paying from online bank accounts.
“By the time we get checks from banks, sometimes they are late,” says McGregor. “And nobody wants late charges. Being able to pay online from your own home, or from anywhere in the world where there is Internet access, is a great convenience.”
Another online service soon to be provided by Housing Services will be the opportunity to reserve the Mission Bay Community Room for meetings, gatherings and parties. This service is slated to be available in the next few months. Individuals and departments will be able to visit the Housing website to view the availability of the meeting and event room on a calendar, and reserve one of four floor plan choices right from their computer.
The conference room includes a meeting table with conference chairs, two couches and beanbags, a foosball table, several cafe tables, a digital projector and screen, a large screen TV/DVD with satellite service, a full kitchen, and two bathrooms.
