Interim Medical School Dean to Host Town Hall Meetings

The campus community is invited to town hall meetings on Tuesday, May 12, to hear about the challenges and opportunities ahead in the current financial environment.

Sam Hawgood, MB, BS, interim dean of the UCSF School of Medicine, says that the school’s leadership has been gathering information, assessing the impact of the current economic environment and making plans to position the school to continue its leading role well into the future.

“While much of the planning remains underway, I will provide an overview of how we are approaching the challenges – and opportunities,” says Hawgood.

So that as many members of the school community as possible have an opportunity to participate, he will conduct similar meetings at multiple locations throughout the day:

  • 9 a.m., Laurel Heights campus, auditorium
  • 11 a.m., San Francisco General Hospital, Carr Auditorium
  • 12:30 p.m., Mission Bay campus, Genentech Hall, Byers Auditorium
  • 2:30 p.m., Parnassus campus, Cole Hall
  • 2:30 p.m., UCSF Fresno, Medical Education Building auditorium (live feed from Parnassus campus)
  • 2:30 p.m., Veteran Affairs Medical Center auditorium (live feed from Parnassus campus)
  • 4 p.m., Mount Zion campus, Herbst Auditorium
  • 4 p.m., Mission Center Building, room 126 (live feed from Mount Zion)
