Nominations Sought for Awards for Exceptional Management, Service
Nominations are now being accepted for the chancellor’s awards for exceptional University management and for exceptional University service.
These awards will be presented at the annual Founders Day luncheon in the spring, when friends, families and co-workers will be able to join in the celebration. The names of award recipients will join a long list of past awardees honored on the tribute wall in the lobby of the Medical Sciences Building on the Parnassus campus.
These are individual awards, so groups may not be nominated. Any nomination questions may be directed to award coordinator Joanne Fraysse, Office of the Interim Vice Chancellor, Finance and Administration, at 415/476-4285 or via email.
Forms and supporting materials must be returned no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, 2009.
Exceptional University Management
The award for managers recognizes and rewards nonacademic employees who have the responsibility to supervise, guide and lead others. As the University’s success is predicated on the contributions of the people who work at UCSF, effective management of this resource — staff — is a critical skill to be nurtured and recognized. Award criteria, nomination forms and the names of past award recipients are available online.
Colleagues are encouraged to nominate deserving supervisors and managers to recognize their extraordinary leadership efforts, which help make UCSF not only an exemplary institution, but also a success in its mission of advancing health worldwide™.
Up to three individuals may be selected to receive this award, which includes monetary recognition of $3,000 (pretax).
Nominations must be made only by the nominee’s supervisor and must be endorsed by the department or unit head. Those who would like to nominate an individual, but are not the supervisor, can contact the supervisor to suggest the nomination.
