National LGBT Leader Reflects on Progress Made Advancing Civil Rights
Kate Kendell, executive director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights, visited UCSF on National Coming Out Day on Oct. 11.
Kendell spoke about how far society has come in advancing lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) rights and the critical role each person, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, plays in the struggle for social justice.
The event was sponsored by UCSF Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Resources, which is part of the Center for Gender Equity. Kendell's talk marked the official start of a month-long Visibility campaign at UCSF.
