Karen Smith-McCune, MD, PhD, associate professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences, director of UCSF's Dysplasia Clinic, and cervical cancer expert, is interviewed by KPIX-TV health and science reporter Kim Mulvihill. MD, about a new study showing the vaccine for the human papilloma virus, Gardasil, is ineffective in already infected patients.
Karla Kerlikowske, MD, a staff physician at the San Francisco VA Medical Center and a professor of medicine, epidemiology, and biostatistics at UCSF, talks about her study finding a decrease in hormone use related to a decline in breast cancer risk. KPIX also examines the link between a fatty diet and colon cancer risk.
