Archive: Can Looking into the Sun Make You Sneeze?
Looking into the sun triggers a sneeze response in about 25 percent of the population. Andy Goldberg, MD, MSCE, a sinus expert at UCSF, tells KPIX-TV that doctors have known for years about this sneeze reflex -- also referred to as the ACHOO syndrome, or "autosomal dominant compelling helio-ophthalmic outburst" -- and explains how it occurs.
