UCSF Names New Director of Facilities Management
Maric Munn, who championed green building policies at the UC Office of the President, has joined UCSF as the new Director of Facilities Management for Capital Projects and Facilities Management (CPFM).
For the last six years, Munn has served as associate director for energy and utility services for Facilities Administration at the UC Office of the President. She has more than 21 years of related managerial experience.
Prior to joining the University, Munn held a variety of facilities and physical plant positions, including serving as the utility manager with the Presidio Trust. She also is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professional and a California Energy Commission certified energy auditor.
Most recently, Munn has been responsible for UC's development and implementation of innovative green building, clean energy and climate change policies, collaborating with the California State University system in energy procurement and management, and creating innovative solutions for dealing with the complex regulatory environment for utilities in California.
Munn holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a registered professional mechanical engineer in California.
"We are fortunate to have Maric bring to UCSF not only her strong engineering and facilities management experience, but also her stellar reputation for collaboration, creativity and accountability," says Steve Wiesenthal, associate vice chancellor for CPFM, campus architect and chair of the UCSF Sustainability Committee. "I look forward to Maric leading us toward operationalizing environmental sustainability across the board, and joining our leadership team as we address the many facilities management priorities for UCSF."
