Campus Life Services Expands Camps for Kids
Campus Life Services is expanding the number of children's camps available at the UCSF Mission Bay Community Center.
Offered in the winter, spring and summer this year, the camps provide children of faculty, staff, students and the public at large an opportunity to enjoy arts and crafts, play sports and games, and go swimming at the Bakar Fitness & Recreation Center in the UCSF Mission Bay Community Center.
This month, UCSF is launching a winter camp for children in first through sixth grades. The camp runs from Monday, Feb. 19, through Friday, Feb. 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Space for winter camp is limited to 20 children, so early registration is strongly encouraged. Fees for this program run from $55 to $70 per day.
This camp also provides free extended care in the mornings from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and in the afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. Extended care is provided in the Game Room in the Mission Bay Community Center.
Spring camp will be offered during the week of April 2 for children in first through sixth grades. A mini-spring camp will be geared for children aged 4 to 6. Fees for both camps run from $55 to $70 per day.
The popular summer day camps, which are designed for children in five specific age groups, will be offered for children entering first through tenth grades beginning the week of June 18. Fees for these two-week camps run from $434 to $640, depending on the grade level. Registration for summer camps is slated to begin in mid-March.
In addition, UCSF this year will offer specialty camps for children entering third through tenth grades. Specialty camps focus on activities including climbing, swimming and sailing. Fees for specialty camps range from $170 to $325 per week.
