Prominent health care leader to address patient safety at UCSF

One of the world’s most prominent health care leaders will visit UCSF and share his insights on patient safety from a global perspective and the latest approaches to hospital safety and policy. The talk is open to the public.

WHO:  SPEAKER—Sir Liam Donaldson, MD, chief medical officer, United       Kingdom and founding director, WHO World Alliance for Patient Safety.
HOST—Robert Wachter, MD, professor of medicine, chief of the   medical service and chair of the patient safety committee at UCSF Medical Center.  An authority on medical mistakes, Wachter is author of the book “Internal Bleeding: The Truth Behind America’s Terrifying Epidemic of Medical Mistakes.”
