UCSF Sponsors AIDS Walk T-Shirt Design Contest

UCSF is looking for the best design of a T-shirt to commemorate the 20th anniversary of AIDS Walk San Francisco. The winning design will be featured on T-shirts to be worn by the hundreds of people who will participate in the UCSF teams in the walk through Golden Gate Park on Sunday, July 16. The design criteria for the UCSF AIDS Walk T-shirt are as follows:
  • Color limit: Use only two colors. Bold colors are preferred.
  • Design should complement the T-shirt color, which will be either white, black or light gray.
  • Design must appear on front of shirt and should fill it, with element also on the sleeve
  • Theme should convey the 20th anniversary and/or UCSF Walks to Cure AIDS
  • Official UCSF logo must be used appropriately and large.
The deadline for submitting a UCSF AIDS Walk San Francisco T-shirt design is Friday, June 16. Please submit designs to Michael Fortes, office manager, UCSF Public Affairs, suite 103, or to [email protected]. The winning design will be selected by the UCSF AIDS Walk Committee and will be announced in UCSF Today. To draw some inspiration for and raise awareness of the upcoming AIDS walk, a special collection of T-shirts from the past decade will be on display in the Medical Sciences lobby. The collection is a combination of T-shirts from longtime AIDS walk participants Jim Lowry and Jack Webster. Meanwhile, 10 teams at UCSF are now involved in signing up walkers and getting donations from sponsors in a friendly competition for the UCSF AIDS Walk Trophy. The truly one-of-a-kind trophy is a bronzed running shoe formerly worn by Chancellor Mike Bishop. Read about this year's competition here.
