UCSF Hosts Global Health Symposium on April 24
Gerald T. Keusch, an assistant provost for global health at Boston University Medical Campus and associate dean for global health at Boston University's School of Public Health, will deliver the keynote address at a symposium on Monday, April 24.
The campus is invited to hear his address, titled "Is Academia Relevant to Global Health," at 4 p.m. in the School of Nursing, room N 217.
Keusch's research has included the molecular pathogenesis of tropical infectious diseases, field research in nutrition, immunology and host susceptibility, and the treatment of tropical infectious diseases and HIV/AIDS.
Open to the campus community, the symposium also features student presentations and the announcement of the faculty mentor award in the School of Nursing mezzanine, from 5 to 8 p.m. Food and drinks will be served.
The event is sponsored by the Institute for Global Health, the International Health Student Interest Group, the Office of International Programs, School of Medicine; and UCSF Global Health Sciences.
