UCSF Names Executive Director of Community & Governmental Relations
Paul Takayama has been named Executive Director of Community and Governmental Relations, part of University Relations at UC San Francisco.
Takayama, who joined the UCSF staff eight years ago, has served as the executive director in an interim capacity over the past seven months. His promotion took effect February 1.
In his new role, Takayama will manage community and government relations, UCSF's new community partnerships program and campus tours of Mission Bay. In addition, he will handle all federal government relations for UCSF.
Prior to coming to UCSF, Takayama served as assistant director of state relations at UCLA from 1993 to1998. Before joining the University of California staff, he spent several years working for the California Legislature, both in the Senate and State Assembly.
Takayama is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.
