UCSF Hosts Conference to End Violence on Jan. 21
Student Health Professionals for Social Responsibility will present "Patients and Providers: A Partnership to End Violence," a one-day conference this Saturday, Jan. 21.
The conference will run from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the UCSF School of Nursing lecture hall, room N 225. Participants will learn about skill-building in screening and prevention in medicine, nursing, physical therapy, dental and pharmacy fields as well as the latest scientific research in immigrant, teen, partner, elderly and gender violence.
The day also will feature an art show and a survivor panel.
To register for the conference, go to the website and click on "UCSF Conference." Fees are $10 before Saturday and $15 at the door. The price includes breakfast, lunch, resource guide and community reference list.
The event is funded by the Chancellor's Endowment Fund, Look to End Abuse Permanently (LEAP), the UCSF School of Nursing and UCSF National Center of Excellence in Women's Health.
