Susan Fisher, PhD, co-director of the UCSF Human Embryonic Stem Cell Center, was profiled on Oct. 17 as part of KQED's California Report's current segment on "Ten to Watch" in the Golden State. Fisher described her development of a technique for deriving human embryonic stem cells that involves growing them on human placental cells.
