Aerobic exercise alone may help ease depression, suggests a University of Texas study. Researchers studied a group of adults, ages 20 to 45, and found that 30-minute aerobic exercise sessions three to five times a week reduced depressive symptoms by nearly 50%. The effect from exercise is similar to what some may find with antidepressant medications, they said. The study appeared in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.
