<p>African American women have lower breast cancer survival rates than white women and University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) scientists are studying why – as well as how to increase their life spans.</p>
October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an opportune time to take stock of some of the recent progress being made at UCSF, home to one of the preeminent cancer centers in the nation.
<p>UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital’s Division of General Pediatrics has developed a large collection of pediatric clinical trials, which are now readily accessible via a new website that features the latest news and information on UCSF’s general clinical trials with children. </p>
<p>The UCSF community is invited to hear JudyAnn Bigby talk about "The Massachusetts Health Reform Experience" during the Chancellor's Health Policy Lecture on September 26.</p>
<p>On the 10<sup>th</sup> anniversary of Sept. 11, faculty members reflect on the psychological toll the tragedy took. </p>
