Global Health Sciences, CTSI to Host Town Hall Meetings on International Projects

UCSF's Global Health Sciences (GHS) and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) are hosting four town hall meetings this month to work with faculty and staff on developing strategies to improve pre- and post-award administration at UCSF for international projects. The meetings will address the unique administrative requirements of international projects, which continue to challenge investigators working outside of the United States. Responding to the needs of the international research community at UCSF, GHS and CTSI leadership hope to learn from the experiences of faculty and staff and to identify and prioritize areas which are cause for concern and in need of improvement. "We expect this to be an iterative process for faculty and staff and to involve external consultancy," wrote GHS-CTSI Global Health Program Co-Directors Nina Agabian, PhD, and David Bangsberg, MD, MPH, in an email to the campus community. "These meetings will form the basis for developing working groups addressing each of the specific issues raised." Four town hall meetings are scheduled at the following UCSF sites:
  • Parnassus Heights: Tuesday, Feb. 26, 1 to 3 p.m. in room S 118
  • 50 Beale Street: Thursday, Feb. 28, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in room 12061
  • San Francisco General Hospital: Thursday, Feb. 28: 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the main hospital, sixth floor, room 6E7
  • Mission Bay: Friday, Feb. 29: 10 a.m. to noon, Genentech Hall, room S261
Refreshments will be provided. Meetings at all venues are open to the campus community. RSVP by Wednesday, Feb. 20, to Kelly Sanders. Related Links: Global Health Sciences Clinical and Translational Science Institute
