Doctor to Share Experiences of Running Astrodome after Hurricane Katrina

Herminia Palacio, MD, MPH, will share her experiences of running the Houston Astrodome, which housed thousands of New Orleans refugees following Hurricane Katrina. The lecture titled "Hurricane Katrina Response: Public Health Infrastructure in Action," will be held Tuesday, Feb. 28 from noon to 1 p.m. in Health Sciences West, room 302 on the Parnassus campus. Palacio is the executive director of Harris County Health and Environmental Services in Houston, Texas, and an associate professor of medicine at Baylor University. She did her residency at UCSF.
