
Lisa Cisneros
Senior Director, Strategic Communications

Lisa Cisneros, senior director of Strategic Communications in University Relations, provides communications counsel to senior leadership, develops and implements major projects and initiatives, and manages emergency communications at UC San Francisco. She leads internally focused communications, writes and edits web stories, speeches and key messages, and produces videos and special reports, such as UCSF's Economic Impact Report. Cisneros also plans and executes major campuswide events such as the Chancellor's State of the University Address and UCSF's participation in the Precision Medicine World Conference and Dreamforce.
Since 1994, Cisneros has served in a variety of communications roles at UCSF, including editor-in-chief of web communications, assistant director of internal communications and editor of the campus newspaper. Prior to joining UCSF, Cisneros has previously worked as a newspaper reporter, covering education, health care, sports and city government.
She holds a BA degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor degree in Print Journalism from San Francisco State University. Cisneros has received special training in project management from Stanford University and in emergency communications by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency.
