Give to UCSF<p>Exemplary community collaborations that promote health equity in San Francisco took center stage at the Fourth Annual Partnerships Celebration sponsored by UCSF’s <a href="http://partnerships.ucsf.edu/">University Community Partnerships</a> (UCP).</p>
<p>For most people, losing your voice is a minor inconvenience. But when San Francisco Giants' sideline reporter Amy Gutierrez, better known as "Amy G," lost her voice during a homestand, she contacted the UCSF Voice and Swallowing Center. </p>
<p>Global health pioneer Paul Farmer, MD, PhD, addressed a packed UCSF auditorium in a special lecture about a community-based health care model that his nonprofit organization, Partners In Health, has brought to some of the world's most impoverished countries, including Haiti and Rwanda.</p>
Most liver transplant candidates who died or were removed from the transplant list actually received one or more liver donation offers, according to a recent UCSF study.

<p>With a focus on improving biomedical research collaboration within the University of California system, representatives from five UC campuses and the UC Office of the President met recently for an annual retreat in Oakland to review the progress of the University of California Biomedical Research Acceleration, Integration, and Development (UC BRAID) program.</p>
