Laurel Heights
Faculty, staff and students, who teach, work and learn at UCSF satellite locations, are invited to comment on the quality of campus life in an upcoming survey.
The online survey is intended for everyone except those whose primary worksite is on the Parnassus and Mission Bay campuses.
The UCSF Campus Community Centers Advisory Council will launch the two-week survey beginning Tuesday, Sept. 12, to get feedback from the thousands of people stationed at small- to medium-sized sites, including Laurel Heights, Mission Center, Mount Zion and Executive Park.
The council, which advises Senior Vice Chancellor Steve Barclay, serves as a resource to UCSF departments, organizations, individuals and neighboring communities to improve and sustain a high quality of campus life. Council members include a cross-section of the UCSF campus, as well two members from the community at large.
Since UCSF's two campus community centers, which offer a plethora of social and recreational activities and events, are located at Parnassus Heights and Mission Bay, the council wants to learn how the University can better serve those at other locations.
The council's survey group has been working with a consultant, Gene Bregman, to determine which questions will provide constructive feedback to Campus Life Services. Questions ask people to offer their opinions on the quality of services, such as café food, and how often and to which destinations they ride the campus shuttles. One question specifically asks Laurel Heights' occupants if they want a locker and shower room.
Results from the survey will be used to determine what service changes are necessary and how to prioritize initiatives to further enhance the quality of life at satellite sites.
