Brazil (Brasil!) Wins UCSF World Cup Poll

By Jeff Miller

UCSF soccer fans have chosen Brasil as the likely 2006 World Cup champion in a totally unscientific sampling of ucsf.edu readers. England was the runner up.
Brasil 18
England 9
Germany 6
Korea 5
USA 4

Here are the final tallies for the top teams, with apologies to the lone vote-getters such as France, Mexico, Italy and Iran. But then it could have been worse: 13 teams failed to win a single vote. Among them were Paraguay, Poland and Sweden.

Some final thoughts from readers: Alex Statsyuk: "Brazil will win as usual." Karen Schulze: "I think this year we will have a surprise winner, Serbia Montenegro."
