Medical Center CEO Offers Drop-in Hours for Employees

UCSF Medical Center CEO Mark Laret is holding drop-in office hours open to any employee who wants to talk about the medical center, make suggestions or just say hello. This is one of several steps that Laret and his leadership team are taking to encourage the sharing of ideas between employees and managers at UCSF Medical Center, and to help learn about issues concerning medical center employees. Other elements of this initiative include: • attending departmental staff meetings (when invited) • making rounds on clinical units • hosting roundtable meetings with frontline staff and managers and • offering a “virtual office” in which employees can email suggestions, comments or concerns directly to Laret whenever they want In addition, Tomi Ryba, chief operating officer of UCSF Medical Center, is hosting a retreat with more than 200 leaders in the clinical enterprise to share ideas about improving communications throughout the medical center. Laret’s office hours will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the Parnassus and Mount Zion campuses. Call Medical Center Administration for specific locations.
