Volunteer Mission to Gulf Coast Changes Nurses' Lives

Part of a series marking the first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, an article in Monday's Vallejo Times-Herald profiles some of those who participated in volunteer missions to aid hurricane victims. UCSF nurses Stephen Ingerson and Lisa Meikle joined several dozen other California nurses and many other members of the UCSF community in volunteering at coastal Mississippi hospitals in the weeks following Hurricane Katrina.
