Fire, Police Chiefs bring holiday cheer to UCSF Children's Hospital

WHERE: UCSF Children’s Hospital, 505 Parnassus Ave., San Francisco

WHAT: Visit by San Francisco Police and Fire Chiefs, firefighters, police officers, elves and Mrs. Santa.

SF Police Chief Heather Fong and—accompanied by firefighters, police officers, elves and Mrs. Santa—will give gifts to children who are patients at UCSF Children’s Hospital.

Fong and Hayes-White were the honorary chairs this year of Macy’s annual Holiday Tree Lighting. This charitable event benefits UCSF Children’s Hospital, Northern California’s center for more than 85 years for extraordinary care and innovative research for children and their families. So far, more than $250,000 has been raised.  Lights can still be purchased via the UCSF Children’s Hospital website at:

San Francisco police officers and firefighters are no strangers to UCSF Children’s Hospital. Throughout the year, they raise money, participate in activities and brighten the day of numerous sick children.

News media covering the December 19 event should come to the main entrance of UCSF Medical Center at 505 Parnassus to be escorted by UCSF News Office staff.
