In an effort to better address concerns about humans’ impact on the environment and to communicate ongoing efforts to improve the world in which we live, the UCSF Office of Sustainability held a “Health and Sustainability Summit” at the Mission Bay campus.
The UCSF community is encouraged to look for ways both large and small to save money and increase efficiency as the University responds to myriad financial challenges.
UCSF has joined as a founding partner with Adobe, Genentech, Google, Kaiser Permanente, salesforce.com and 20 other corporations and institutions to elevate green building as a public health benefit.
UC San Francisco has completed urgent fire-safety measures on approximately 12 acres on Mount Sutro.
UCSF will begin urgent fire-safety measures on Mount Sutro later this month to help protect residents and homes adjacent to the Mount Sutro Open Space Reserve, as well as the UCSF Medical Center and facilities at Parnassus Heights.
As Californians prepare to vote on Proposition 37, which would require labeling of food that’s been genetically modified, debate continues on the health implications of eating such foods.

<p>PG&E representatives congratulated UCSF recently for reaching another milestone — $2.7 million in incentives that the University earned for reducing annual energy consumption that is the equivalent of taking more than 1,000 cars off the road.</p>
