UC Commission on the Future to Visit UCSF

Faculty, staff, students and trainees can voice their opinions on the future of the University of California on Tuesday, Dec. 1, when members of a UC commission will meet at UCSF.

The meeting is slated to run from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Cole Hall on the UCSF Parnassus campus. The forum will be broadcast to the following UCSF sites:

  • Laurel Heights Auditorium,
  • Rock Hall Auditorium at Mission Bay
  • Herbst Hall at Mount Zion
  • Teak Room at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center
  • Conference Room 3208 at San Francisco General Hospital
  • Fresno Auditorium

Individuals also may provide feedback as to the direction of the 10-campus UC system here.

The UC Commission on the Future was established and charged with the development of a new vision for the University, one that maintains its excellence, access and affordability, as well as continuing its service to California while addressing the financial challenges resulting from the state’s ongoing fiscal problems.

Members of the commission will first hear comments by UCSF faculty, staff, students and other leaders before an open session begins during which time members of the audience may participate.

The UC Commission on the Future, co-chaired by Russell Gould, chair of the UC Board of Regents, and Mark Yudof, president of the UC system, comprises five work groups:
