The top winners from 10 categories will be announced during a gala awards ceremony on Saturday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m. at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theatre in San Francisco. Each of the 10 categories recognizes three nominees from sectors that include arts and entertainment, community service, corporate, education, health care, media, political/public service, spiritual, sports and youth. In addition to his role as professor and interim chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology, Roach is professor of urology and principal investigator on a National Cancer Institute grant to reduce health care disparities in underserved populations. He is being recognized for the body of work accomplished throughout his career. "I am honored to be nominated for this very prestigious award," said Roach.
