Why do I need to live in the San Francisco area?
You need to be able to make frequent study visits.

How is Options different from going to my doctor?
Some things will be similar to your doctor's office. Others are different because OPTIONS is a research study. If you participate, we will want to have you fill out research questionnaires that your doctor would not do. We will also draw blood for special research tests. You will be given a "consent form" that explains the study in detail and asks you to sign if you want to participate. You can find out more about what to expect at "Your first visit."

How long will it take to get my results?
You will receive the results about one week after your first visit. A doctor or Nurse Practitioner will explain the results to you and offer advice about whether or not you need to start treatment.
