Campus Hosts Final Events to Mark 50th Anniversary of Millberry Union

The campus community is invited to celebrate the creation of Millberry Union, the center of campus life on the UCSF Parnassus campus, for 50 years. The campus celebration recognizing the Millberry Union anniversary began last May. The schedule of events is as follows: Wednesday, Sept. 10: Sing a song in the campus karaoke session from noon to 1 p.m. in the Millberry Union Plaza. Folks are given a chance to sing in front of a UCSF audience during the busy noon hour in the eatery. Choose from more than 2,000 songs from singing sensations, including Madonna, the Beatles, Alicia Keys and Nirvana. All participants will be entered into a raffle for a $25 Macy’s gift card. Wednesday, Sept. 17: Enjoy an endless summer picnic from noon to 1 p.m. in Saunders Court on the Parnassus campus. Relax and unwind by listening to Beach Boys’ tunes performed by the B-Movie Kings. A $4 lunch special is also available for purchase. Individuals can also participate in a rock, paper, scissors competition and possibly win a $100 Sports Basement gift card. The program begins at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct., 14: Hear a keynote address by Senior Vice Chancellor Steve Barclay, during a ceremony from noon to 1 p.m. in the Millberry Union. Attendees can enjoy a complimentary cupcake, punch and receive a commemorative pin which marks the event.
