Google Chef to Cook for SFGH's Trauma Recovery Center Benefit

Nate Keller, popular chef at Google's headquarters in Mountain View, will give a cooking demonstration as part of a benefit event for the San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH) Trauma Recovery Center. Funds raised at the dinner at Google headquarters on Saturday, Sept.16, will benefit SFGH's Trauma Recovery Center. As the lead hospital for the San Francisco Emergency Medical Services Trauma System, SFGH provides an important trauma center resource for more than 1.5 million residents of San Francisco and northern San Mateo County. Each year, the trauma team treats more than 3,000 severely injured patients. In fact, SFGH operates the city's only level I trauma center in San Francisco. The community is invited to attend the fundraiser at 6 p.m. at Google headquarters, located at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway in Mountain View. Tickets are $175 for a single person or $300 per couple. VIP tickets cost $250 for singles and $400 per couple. Ticket prices include a cooking demonstration by Keller and a behind-the-scenes tour of Google headquarters. Keller is reportedly "a passionate proponent of local, organic and sustainable food," according to Olivia Wu of the San Francisco Chronicle, who wrote a story about the opening of Café 150 at Google headquarters. Details of the event are posted on the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation website. SFGH has been an official partner in public health with UCSF since the institutions entered into an affiliation agreement in 1873. The University provides faculty from all four schools - dentistry, medicine, nursing and pharmacy - who provide patient care services, conduct research and teach at SFGH. The San Francisco General Hospital Foundation was founded in 1994 by a dedicated, core group of eight that evolved into the first board of directors. The foundation now has 30 directors, who are responsible for raising and providing support for the hospital. The money raised by the foundation underwrites continued investment in support of an array of programs and services at the hospital.
