Individuals Do What They Can to Raise Relief Funds

Individuals from all over the campus are coming forward to help raise funds to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Starting today, Sept. 9, the UCSF Graduate Student Association and the Associated Students of the University of California are offering "Benefit Beads" to support the American Red Cross's efforts following Hurricane Katrina. The suggested donation is $2 per strand or three strands for $5. The campus community can look for bead donation tables at the following UCSF locations: Friday, Sept. 9: Medical Sciences Lobby, Parnassus campus; Monday, Sept. 12: Genentech Hall, UCSF Mission Bay campus, and Medical Sciences Lobby; Tuesday, Sept. 13: School of Dentistry; Wednesday, Sept. 14: The View Café, Laurel Heights; Thursday, Sept. 15: Medical Sciences Lobby These beads also will be available for purchase from student leaders on campus or in the Student Activity Center, Millberry Union West, room 108, on the Parnassus campus. And UCSF Deputy Campus Counsel Greta Schnetzler, who, along with her husband Manu, is an amateur photographer, posted their photos of New Orleans online for sale here.
