Xiangning Jiang, MD PhD
Assistant Research Neurobiologist
My research seeks to understand the complex and precise molecular networks triggered by an excitotoxic insult in the neonates, providing insight into patterns of selective neuronal vulnerability and potential therapeutic strategies. I am using neonatal mouse model of stroke, transgenic mouse model and primary neuronal cultures to clarify some of the biological mechanisms underlying the modulation of NMDA-type glutamate receptors and associated postsynaptic density (PSD) proteins, such as PSD-95, PSD-93, nNOS and related signaling pathways in neonatal hypoxia-ischemia.
