opaque cells treated with a factor and schmooing C. albicans opaque cells respond to a pheromone by schmooing, in preparation for mating.

We do research on the human pathogen C. albicans, (a type of yeast), which changes its shape and other critical characteristics in response to environmental conditions inside mammalian hosts.

alpha2 and a1 bound to DNA S. cerevisiae transcriptional mating type repressor proteins alpha2 and a1 bound to DNA.

We do research on the molecular mechanisms of how cells know what mating type they are, how they switch internal states to mate with partner cells, and how they change their internal circuitry in response to other external conditions.
