UCSF Mission Bay is a monumental work in progress. The facilities featured below will comprise the beginnings of what one day will be a 20-building campus and specialized health care complex, providing 2.65million square feet of research, teaching, and clinical space.
The campus is the anchor of the greater Mission Bay project, San Francisco's largest urban revitalization effort since the building of Golden Gate Park. What was once a desolate tract of abandoned railroad yards is becoming a vibrant, cohesive community of scientific researchers, medical professionals and patients, teachers, students, entrepreneurs and residents.
UCSF Mission Bay is designed to support a confluence of scientific discovery, technological innovations, and patient care. Further construction will expand the capacity and impact of this great venture as additional research and teaching facilities, and the new medical center, take their place on the landscape.
